Here in Los Angeles on any given night there are more the 98 thousand homeless people. Blacks make up about 9% of the population here in LA County but we are more then 51% of the homeless population.
I sometimes wonder where we went wrong. Where did my community make a wrong turn? When did we stop caring for one another. I sometimes get very sad when I look at the volunteers who come to support me in my effort to help homeless people and I only see three faces that are like mine. I have doneall the outreaching to black orgnizations, radio and churches and all I ever get is "we are too busy with......."
51% this is very sad to me.
