"This is a place to discuss films made by and/or about Black people. Films from anywhere in the Black world (Africa, South America, North America, Caribbean, Asia, Europe, Middle East, Australia, etc.) are open for discussion. This includes, but isn't limited to "Blaxploitation", documentaries, liberation stories, coming of age stories, gender relations, history, culture, drama, etc.
In this community there are no national borders, just an interest in sharing information about Black Cinema.
"Black Cinema" is anything that's produced with Black characters and/or perspectives at the center and/or with Black directors or screenwriters.
Of course, anyone of any ethnicity, nationality or political stripe is welcome in this community.
This is also a good place for letting others know about screenings or other black cinema-related events."
